President and CEO
Peter T. Kissinger
received a B.S. in chemistry (1966) from Union College, Schenectady,
N.Y., and a Ph.D. in analytical chemistry (1970) from the University
of North Carolina Chapel Hill. Prior to joining the faculty at Purdue
in 1975, Kissinger was a Research Associate at the University of Kansas
(1970-1972) and an Assistant Professor at Michigan State University
(1972-1975). He founded BAS in 1974.
Headquartered
in West Lafayette, Indiana, BAS also has operations in New Jersey,
Pennsylvania, Kansas, and England. BAS manufactures instrumentation
and develops software for biomedical and chemical research. BAS
Vetronics manufactures instrumentation for veterinary medicine.
The company carries out preclinical contract research on toxicology,
pathology, and ADME from rodents to primates, and provides analytical
support for clinical trials (LC, LC/MSMS) and product development
(stability, dissolution, thermal methods).
Dr. Kissinger's
academic research has involved the study of organic electrode reaction
mechanisms, hydrodynamic electroanalytical techniques, modern liquid
chromatography techniques, and in vivo methodology for drug
metabolism and the neurosciences. Dr. Kissinger has published more
than 200 scientific papers and is a Fellow of the American Association
of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS) and the American Association
for the Advancement of Science (AAAS).
